Project Area: Human Resources
Project Summary: Our client recently implemented a centralized recruiting process and applicant tracking system. As a part of this change, all hiring now was approved and managed by the recruiting staff in Human Resources. In the past, hiring managers had the option of working with a recruiter or coordinating the hiring themselves.
Project Detail: When our client implemented this new program, the workload was unmanageable. A higher number of open positions combined with a longer time to fill each job had created a major backlog. The belief was that after time when both the recruiters and hiring managers were comfortable with both the process and the new system, the workload would level off. The client came to the Beaird Group for support during this peak period. Our team was given access to the applicant tracking system and was assigned positions by the Recruiting Manager.
The team was responsible for:
- Contacting the hiring manager to understand their needs
- Reviewing all applications and coding them correctly in the system
- Conducting phone interviews when necessary
- Presenting candidates to hiring managers for review
- Tracking applicant status and updating the system regularly
The client asked for our support for a few weeks until the workflow became more manageable. Ultimately, we stayed for several months. During that time our hours ramped up and down with the demands on the client’s staff. |
